An Irish Vegan Feast at Bistro 185

As a general rule, I don't like Irish food.  Or more likely, I can't eat it.  Growing up, my very Irish grandmother was always trying to feed me ham, mashed potatoes drenched in butter, and some sort of awful vegetable.  Grandma meant well, but she never caught on to the fact that my parents and I didn't eat meat.  I feel like most Irish bars/restaurants cook the way my grandma does...meat with a side of buttery something.

Yuck.

Thankfully, this St. Patty's Day season, there's at least one vegan Irish offering around town (two if you count Melt's vegan reuben sandwich...but I'm not really a fan of it) and I think I just might like it!  Bistro 185 is hosting a St. Patrick's Day themed vegan dinner on March 30.  For the low, low price of $30 per person you can get a gourmet 3 course vegan feast:

First Course
Caramelized Onion, Cabbage, and Vegan Bacon Tart

Second Course
Irish Stew with Vegetables and Gardein
On a Bed of Red Bliss Potato Mash with Spring Onions

Third Course
Chocolate Mousse Infused with Irish Whiskey

My only complaint about this vegan dinner is that it doesn't come with some Irish whiskey...but I think I can remedy that myself!  As always, you need to pre-register to attend this monthly vegan event.  Contact Bistro 185 for more information.
