Great Lakes Burning River Festival

Will the joke about the river catching on fire in Cleveland EVER get old?

Apparently not. In fact, there's an upcoming celebration to honor the 40th anniversary of the fire that no on can seem to forget called the Great Lakes Burning River Fest. This "small celebration" will be held at Whiskey Island on August 15 from 4-11pm and will feature live entertainment (including Blessed Union of Souls - who knew they were even still around?), local and organic food, and, of course, Great Lakes Brewing Company beer. Admission is $15 if you order your ticket ahead of time and $20 at the gate. Parking might be difficult, so there will be a bicycle valet set up in case you'd like to bike it there.

Proceeds from this event benefit the Burning River Foundation Inc., a group focused on ecological conservation, historical preservation, and environmental protection of our waterways.
