Lakewood Ambulance Chase

Tomorrow I'll be running in the Lakewood Hospital Ambulance Chase 5K. This was the first race I ever ran in 3 years ago. It's a really well run, small-ish race with an almost perfectly flat course. The run goes through Lakewood past some of the beautiful old houses. Before I ran in this 5K, I never thought I'd be able to complete a race, but some of my very supportive co-workers pushed me to try. And to my surprise, they were right. I finished the race and felt an amazing sense of accomplishment. That unleashed the running beast within me and now I'm borderline obsessed with running.

This year I'm trying to "pay it forward" and have talked (or maybe strong-armed) one of my co-workers into running in the Ambulance Chase. She's a phenomenal woman who's a very dedicated mother of 4. (I can barely take care of my self let alone 4 children and a husband!) She's attempted to become a runner in the past, but life has always gotten in the way. She's been training for this race for weeks and I know she's going to do so well. I can't wait to be there at the finish line to congratulate her.

If you live anywhere near Lakewood and are a runner, I highly encourage you to check out this race tomorrow. What better way to spend a Sunday morning than by running through the beautiful streets of Lakewood?
