Will drinking skinny cocktails really make me skinny?

I've been known to indulge in an adult beverage or two in my day (I still think drinking a margarita is the best way to rehydrate after running in a race) and I've noticed that "skinny" drinks seem to be popping up everywhere I go.  Not familiar with skinny drinks?  Basically they're calorie reduced versions of your favorite cocktails - like mojitos, margaritas, cosmos...and just about anything else you can think of.  Normally the calories are reduced by using artificial sweeteners (hello, Splenda) or other chemically things that you might not want to ingest on a regular basis.

That's why my favorite skinny drink is the original skinny drink of champions - the Skinny Girl Margarita.  Made famous by Bethenny Frankel, of BRAVO tv's Real Housewives, etc. franchise, it's all natural and sweetened with Agave.  AND...it's only 100 calories for a 4 ounce serving.  (your typical margarita packs 5 times the amount of calories!)  Now...I'll admit that it doesn't taste exactly like your "fatty" margarita.  It's not as sweet and it's not brightly colored (food dye isn't so great for you anyway), but I think it's a great substitute!  It comes in a screw-top wine bottle and can be easily taken to a party or stashed in your 'fridge for when you just need to have some margarita-y goodness.  (or am I alone in this?  doesn't everyone crave margaritas?)

Moral of this story - if you invite me to a party anytime soon, I'm bringing some SkinnyGirl Margaritas with me.

Do you have a favorite skinny drink or dish?  Let's keep it natural, folks...no artificial sweeteners here.
