Sesame soy asparagus recipe

Here's a quick recipe for one of my favorite side dishes - sesame soy asparagus. I'm not sure where the recipe originally came from, but my boyfriend first discovered this tasty side at a bachelor party cook-out.

Ingredients:

  • Half a bunch of asparagus (especially the big and fresh kind that's on sale at Whole Foods this week)
  • At least two tablespoons minced garlic
  • One tablespoon sesame oil
  • Two tablespoons soy sauce
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

Trim the asparagus and cut into thirds. Clean and mince as much garlic as you can handle. (In my world, the more garlic, the merrier.) Place garlic and asparagus into skillet. Add two tablespoons soy sauce and one tablespoon sesame oil. Cook at high heat for 7 minutes or until asparagus is thoroughly cooked - not firm but not floppy either. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve while hot. Delicioso!
