Flaming Ice Cube Update

I had another opportunity to have take out from The Flaming Ice Cube in Boardman, Ohio over the weekend. My boyfriend and I took a trip down to Y-town to visit his family. While they ordered take-out from Red Lobster (Apparently Red Lobster is a much less frightening place to eat for non-vegetarians in Youngstown. I don't know any meat eaters here in Cleveland that would frequent the chain...) While they devoured their shrimp-tastic feasts, I had my own vegan feast.

At the top of the picture are the vegan chick'n fingers that I've raved about in the past. I could eat 50 of them in one sitting. They're really one of the best fake chicken options I've found. To the left is the macaroni salad side that came with my sandwich. You'd never guess it's vegan. (Although I feel that way about most foods made with Vegenaise.) The pickle was...well...a pickle. But the sandwich was a masterpiece. I ordered the Mediterranean Panini. It had an artichoke spread, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, spinach, tomatoes, and vegan mayo all on fresh focaccia. Being the calorie conscious girl that I am, I don't get to eat bread all that often, and bread and the entire sandwich were delicious. Every bite was full of flavor. You could taste each component of the sandwich, but it wasn't overwhelming. I'd definitely order it again if there weren't so many other thing son the menu I'd like to try.
